Uganda Safari - 6 Days Safari in Kibale, Bwindi and Lake Mburo National Parks
This 6 days (5 nights) Uganda Safari takes you to Kibale, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Mburo National Park. This safari will involve you in several adventure activities : Mountain Gorilla Tracking, Chimpanzee Tracking, Bird Watching, Nature Walks, and Game Viewing in Uganda National Parks.
Safari itinerary - Uganda Safari (6 Days)
Day 1: Kampala - Kibale Forest (450 km approx. 5-6 hours)
After breakfast, you will depart Kampala for Kibale National Park. This scenic drive takes approximately 5-6 hours arriving in the afternoon. You will stop over in Fort portal town for lunch before driving to Ndali Lodge/Primates Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest House where you will stay prior to your chimpanzee tracking tomorrow. After checking in, and if time allows, you will go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp to look for different bird species like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Report at the ranger station at Kibale Forest at 8:00am after breakfast and track the habituated chimps. Today, we spend the whole morning in the forest tracking the delightful apes that are more closely to humans than any other living creatures, returning to the lodge in time for lunch. The forest has a total 13 Primate species that includes the red Colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies. Later in the evening, you will have the opportunity of a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary which is managed by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental organization was formed in 1992 with the major aim of achieving social and economic development for local communities. This swamp is a home to approximately 137 bird species and it is also rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, figs and the dominant papyrus.

Day 3: Kibale Forest – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is approximately 5-7 hours drive. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas, the Montane Forest also attracted stunning birds of which, there are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You may decide to relax in the afternoon or take a nature walk (at an extra cost of $10 P.P) which will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and a chance to see primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue Monkeys and others species.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for the most exciting activity of Gorilla tracking. Report at the ranger station at 8:00am with your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear where the guides will take you to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only about 700 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon relax at the camp or if you have the energy, go for a guided village walk to visit the Local Batwa Community returning to the Camp in the evening.

Day 5: Bwindi - Lake Mburo National Park and Boat trip
After breakfast we will depart for Lake Mburo National Park. This scenic drive which is approximately 7-8 hours will take you to Mbarara where you will stop for lunch before making our final descent to Lake Mburo National Park. After checking in, you will go for a boat trip; this park is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains with big herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species. For birders, this is one of the best places to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike. Go for an evening game drive.

Day 6: Nature Walk and Depart for Kampala
After breakfast, have a guided nature walk and then proceed to Kampala which is approximately 3 to 4hrs drive. This drive will take you across the Equator where you will stop for a photographic opportunity as well as an informative talk, a stop at the Royal Drum makers is so rewarding, arriving in Kampala in the afternoon.
