MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING SAFARIS

Uganda is one of the three African countries where tracking of the endangered mountain gorillas can be done. This takes place in four habituated mountain gorilla groups within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as well as Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks. Bwindi Gorillla Safari - 3 days gorilla trekking tour to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Located in South Western Uganda, Bwindi National Park lies on the edge of the Western Rift valley (Albertine rift) and is shared by Kanungu, Kabale and Kisoro districts. The park occupies different vegetation zones but predominantly a tropical rain forest. This ancient rainforest is one of the few remaining forests in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age. Bwindi Impenetrable national park is a home to roughly half of the world's mountain gorillas (326 gorillas). MORE>>

Chimps & Gorilla Safari - 7 days Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas, the Montane Forest also attracts 120 other mammalian species including 11 primates, 200 species of butterflies and about 324 different tree species. These primates include the black-and-white colobus, with its lovely flowing white tail, L’Hoest Monkey, Red Tailed monkeys among others. Queen Elizabeth Safari - 3 days game viewing holiday in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Named after the famous Queen Elizabeth of England, Queen Elizabeth is the most popular national park in Uganda with abundant game which attracts thousands of tourists interested in viewing the big game. The park boasts of over 100 mammalian species and a remarkable 606 bird species, Chimps in Kyambura Gorge etc. on the game viewing safari, big herds of elephants, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda kob are all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula. HIKING ADVENTURES

Rwenzori Mountain Hike - 9 days hike leading you to Uganda's highest point, Margherita peak (5,109). Walking past typical “ wattle and mud” Bakonjo homes and gradually moving upward through elephant grass and garden plots is quite adventerous as you trascend to one of Africa's highest points. The Rwenzori range has 6 major peaks, Mt Stanley (5,109m), Mt Speke (4,890m) Mt Baker (4,843m), Mt Emin (4,798m), Mt Gessi (4,715m) and Mt Luigi di Savoia (4,627m). The highest peak in the Mt Stanley complex is called Margherita peak (5,109) and it is this peak which makes the Rwenzori Mountains the 3rd highest range in Africa. MORE>>
