UGANDA SAFARI - 5 DAYS BWINDI GORILLAS & WILDLIFE IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart from Kampala early in the morning at 7:00am for Queen Elizabeth National Park. This scenic drive takes approximately 6-8 hours arriving in the afternoon.  You will stop over in Fort portal town for lunch before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After checking in, a game drive to the crater lakes regions is so rewarding. Over night at Mweya Lodge/ Jacana safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Launch Cruise

This morning we will leave for the 08.00am chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge. These delightful apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. We will return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax by the swimming pool.
               
In the afternoon a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will have a game drive in the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Par found in the southern part of the park, famed for its tree climbing lions and there after depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is approximately 3-5 hours drive.
Best known for its Mountain Gorillas, the Montane Forest also attracted stunning birds of which, there are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You may decide to relax in the afternoon or take a nature walk (at an extra cost of $10 P.P) which will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and a chance to see primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue Monkeys and others species.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for the most exciting activity of Gorilla tracking. Report at the ranger station at 8:00am with your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear where the guides will take you to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only about 700 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon relax at the camp or if you have the energy, go for a guided village walk to visit the Local Batwa Community returning to the Camp in the evening.

Day 3: Drive back to Kampala
After a morning breakfast, we will depart from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and return back to Kampala stopping en-route for lunch arriving in the early evening.
