Uganda Safari - 12 Days Tour Uganda National Parks

This is a 12 Days Uganda Safari which starts and finishes in Kampala. The safari takes you through Uganda’s most famous destinations, Lake Mburo National park, Bwindi Gorilla Forest, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Tropical Rainforest. The tour takes you to Kibale Primate Forests, one of Africa's most ancient rain forests. Visiting the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can see a wide diversity of game such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and leopards is another awesome experience of this Uganda safari. Other tourist activities to be carried out on the vacation include; a hunt for the tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees in the Ishasha region as well as a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where schools of hippos and crocodiles can be seen.  A wide variety of birds at the channel present a haven to birders yet the tropical rain forests of Maramagambo are a treasure to nature lovers.

From Bwindi Impenetrabel forest, yu will go for a gorilla trek through this ancient tropical rainforest. Tracking some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world is another omissible holiday activity in a true Ugandan safari. This activity will be carried out in Bwindi where there are 3 habituated gorilla families. From Bwindi the safari will take you to the Beautiful Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake with historical islands. As you return to Kampala you will have an experience of Lake Mburo National park, another beautiful savanna park in the country

Tour Itinerary - Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrive in Lake Mburo National Park
Head from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park, situated in the Southern part of Uganda. Before you reach the park, you will have a magnificence of the game drive. Arrive in time for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. The acacia forests and wetlands are home to an impressive variety of antelope including the giant eland and impala. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which will be viewed clearly as you are on the boat trip. Expect to see hippopotami and birds like African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, you may also sight the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will furnish your visit with pride. Dinner and over night stay at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp (FB)

Day 2: Game drives and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, you will go for game viewing because the park is famous for its richness in biodiversity. It has an estimate of 68 different species of mammals such as Topi, Impala, Zebra, Buffalo, Eland, leopard, Hyenas and jackals. The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while the fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists, such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus Gonalek. After the view, proceed to Bwindi Forest and on your arrival relax while preparing for the following day: Gorilla trekking. Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 3: Gorilla trekking
Enter the sanctuary at dawn and enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest, home of the mountain gorillas. After a short briefing by the experienced guides, proceed through dense bush to trek for these endangered animals called the great Apes (Gorillas). Other primates also live in the forest including the black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee. This can be very tiring due to the fact that the ground is steep and densely forested but it really is worth it.  Return to the accommodation for relaxation or have an optional community walk. Day 4: Second gorilla trekking
Have another full day trekking gorillas. You will trek a different gorilla type. Treks can take an hour or they can take four – it all depends on where the gorillas are. And so the time remaining after visiting the gorillas can either be spent relaxing and remembering the trek or hiking in the foothills and visiting local communities – it’s up to you.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, head for Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is situated at the foot of the Rwenzoris Mountains, protecting over 200 sq km of Rift Valley Savanna, interspersed with patches of forest and crater lakes thus an thought for a safari. At your arrival, carry out a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. You will scrutinize the concentration of water birds, hippos and crocodiles which is amazing. The bird species includes the black bee- eater, 11 types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more. Day 6: Game drive and chimpanzee tracking
Early morning game drive in the Park, to see wildlife like elephants, lions, Uganda Kobs, spotted hyenas and the leopard plus many others. In the afternoon, head to Kyambura gorge for the chimpanzee trekking. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart from Bwindi forest to Kibale National Park. Have Lunch enroute. On your arrival, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that inhabit the swamp. Transfer to Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge on a full board basis to have an overnight.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking
After an early morning breakfast, you will be taken to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing before you head for our chimpanzee tracking. You will pay a visit to the forest to track chimpanzees. The forest also inhabits 12 other primates which you will view when given enough time like gray cheeked mangabeys, baboons and vervet monkeys. Day 9: Depart to Kampala
After breakfast we depart for Kampala with a packed lunch and arrive during the late afternoon. Relax and have an overnight at Sheraton Hotel or Hotel Africana (BB)

Day 10: Kampala City tour
After breakfast, start off with the city tour, by walking through the city centre, the Uganda Parliament, the National Theatre, Namirembe Cathedral, visit the Kasubi Tombs: which portrays the Ganda Culture, and Bahai Temple. We finish the tour with a look at the culture and history that make up this incredible country. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel or Hotel Africana (BB)

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Victoria Hotel, Entebbe
From Kampala, enroute to Entebbe for wildlife viewing at Uganda Wildlife Education Center like antelope, beautiful debrazza monkeys, vervet monkeys, hundreds of beautiful coloured butterflies and indigenous plant species, and a visit to the botanical gardens to appreciate different plant species. Overnight at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel

Day 12: Depart
Transfer to Entebbe Airport for departure
