Queen Elizabeth Safari - 3 Days Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda
This is a 3 days Uganda Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The safari starts and finishes in Kampala, taking you through Uganda’s second largest national park. Located on the savannah plains below the Rwenzoris, Queen Elizabeth National Park hosts the great game of Africa in which includes elephants, lions, buffaloes, a profusion of hippos, elusive giant forest hogs and leopards among others. These animals are regularly sighted around the tourist village of the Mweya Peninsula - which also boasts a marvelous waterfront setting in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Queen Elizabeth National Park hosts 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species and this makes it a superb safari territory, to tourists who are interested in game viewing and birding as well. From the Kazinga channel a launch cruise enables tourists to see different birds, thousands of hippos, solitary buffaloes and other animals that come for a drink on the Kazinga channel. The park also poses a number of primate species in the Kyambura gorge and Maramagambo forest. From the Kyambura gorge you have got the opportunity to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees while the Maramagambo forest is a home to an alluring section of monkeys, birds and flamingos. Around Ishasha go on the hunt for the tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees as they wait for their prey.
